ABOUT US

GnanaDeepam (G.D.Trust) is an Indian NGO and registered Under Indian Trust Act. GD Trust is working to improve the lives of marginalized children, their families and communities, Adolescent Girls Un-employed youth and Women Development.
For over 8 years, GD Trust have worked with communities throughout pudukkottai District In Tamilnadu  to break the cycle of poverty by helping children access their rights to protection, basic education, proper healthcare, a healthy environment, livelihood opportunities and participation in decision which affect their lives. We encourage children to express their views and be actively involved in improving their communities. GD Trust currently works in 13 Blocks in Pudukottai District; it has touched the lives of thousands of children.

OUR GOALS

Our goal is to be the leading child development organization in India, known for its credibility and the lasting impact it creates in the lives of vulnerable and excluded children and their communities. GD Trust programmes looks to reach out to twenty thousand children directly and fifty thousand children indirectly through advocacy and policy influence.
The Government of India ratified the conversion on the Rights of the Child, on 12th November 1992, expressing its commitment to the children of India. The convention provides a framework for GD Trust’s work around the world.In India, this can be seen in our nine goals.

OUR VISION

GD Trust’s vision is of a world in which all children realize their full potential in societies which respect people’s rights and dignity. It is an independent organization, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations. To improve the quality of life of the poorest of poor enable them to become in sustainable livelihood.

OUR MISSION

GD Trust’s aims to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of life of deprived children in developing countries through a process that unites people across cultures and adds meaning and value to their lives by:

  • Enabling deprived children, their families and their communities to meet their basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies
  • Building relationships to increase understanding and unity among peoples of different cultures and countries.
  • Promoting the rights and interests of the world's children.
  • Empowering the poorest of poor and developing them on self sufficiency and sustainable measures.
